Mileage Card

Today, I signed up for a Japan Airlines mileage card, not a credit card, for my son. He, is going to be a junior high student this coming April, and I are going to Nepal coming at the end of next month.

Yes, it's his graduation trip. Last week, I appied for his passport that valid for 5 years. As for me, this is going to be the second time to visit there. Traveling Nepal is mainly trekking on Himalaya. After trekking, my plan is going to a national park that boasts a lot of different species of  mammals, including rhinos, tigers, deer, monkey, elephants, leopards, sloth bears, wild boar and hyena. And also birdwatching is very popular, but I don't know anything about it.

By the way, do you get miles using your credit card? The good thing is that you get extra miles when you use it. My credit card is not an Airlines. I don't earn miles by shopping at all.

Snow-Making Machine

I spotted the best budget ski area with a day trip from Tokyo region. The ski area, http://misaka.kamuisp.com/ , is located near Mt. Fuji in Yamanashi Prf. I drive there. It takes about 2 hours from my condo in Totuka, Yokohama City. The ski area has 4 chair lifts and 3 skiing runs open. But slopes are very small, just 200 meters of altitude difference. The longest slope is just about 800 meters, and the steepest slope goes up to 20 degrees inclination. This ski area is for families with young children.

Additionally, the rest of the mountain is completely free of snow. That means this ski area has one of the largest snow-making system. The snow-making machines are being placed on the mountain. Skiing with artificial snow is not so good, but it still feels good to ski outside with my children.
